I'm Leslie Flynn. It's so nice to meet you!
For more than 30 years, I have had the privilege of serving the communities where I live and work. Along the way, I may have taken one of the longest routes imaginable to finding my true passion.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside with a degree in Geography, I spent nearly 18 years building mapping and Geographic Information Systems for the City of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. While I enjoyed working with maps and data, I also discovered a growing passion for photography, design, writing, and storytelling.
In 2012, a simple question changed the course of my career: "What do you know about social media?" That opportunity launched a second career in communications, where I spent more than a decade helping tell the story of Oak Creek and building the city's communications program.
Today, I serve as Communications Director for the City of Racine, leading media relations, strategic communications, public engagement, branding, digital communications, photography, and video production for Wisconsin's fifth-largest city.
Whether through a photograph, a news story, a public information campaign, or a social media post, my goal remains the same: helping communities tell their stories clearly, honestly, and effectively.
Thanks for visiting. I invite you to explore my portfolio and learn more about my work.
